For a boutique coffee shop nestled in a historic street, this project aimed to extend the in-store atmosphere all the way to the sidewalk. Hand-drawn chalk typography, a solid oak A-frame sign, a façade plate and interior decorative elements were unified under a single visual language. The result is a warm, nostalgic and distinctive retail experience that invites every passerby inside. On the material and production side, solid oak was laminated for weather resistance, surfaces were finished with a natural oil-based protective coating, and stainless-steel hinges were specified to withstand outdoor use. The chalk surface was hand-drawn and mounted on a magnetic backer board so the operator can refresh weekly menus while retaining the same header template. The façade plate was CNC-laser cut and layered with concealed LED illumination that casts a soft halo onto the street after dusk, ensuring the shop reads as clearly at night as it does in daylight. Inside, the cashier-front shelving, the filter coffee station and the product display bays continued the same oak-and-brass accessory grammar, while a large-format handwritten menu panel recreated the sidewalk typography at wall scale. As a result, visitors drawn in by the A-frame never experience a visual break — they step into the same handcrafted world the façade promised. Over the first three months after launch, the fit-out measurably improved weekday lunchtime footfall and strengthened the café's recognition as a destination within its historic street, validating the decision to treat sidewalk, façade and interior as a single continuous communication surface.
